This is the live recording from my show on June 16, 2009. Sorry for the delay - I didn't broadcast on June 9th due to technical issues and I was fighting a cold after this show. About: Tommie Boy has been experimenting with music since 1984. Growing up on Chicago's South Side, Tommie Boy was never one to follow the normal path. While most of the kids in his neighborhood were listening to rock music, Tommie Boy listened to R&B music and fell in love with the deep basslines, beats and vocals that rock music lacked. The DJs blending records and the house parties in the movie Beat Street were the inspiration to pursue the skills necessary to become a DJ. During that time Chicago radio was embracing House music. House music offered all the elements that Tommie Boy liked to hear in music, but with more energy. Spinning House music at house parties and clubs was a natural high and the ability to "control" the crowd encouraged Tommie Boy to be more creative and work harder. Currently Tommie Boy is a resident DJ on Boost.FM and is in the studio working on music. While all his mixes could be classified as house, there is never any set style to a particular mix. As Tommie puts it: "I like my mixes to be a soundtrack for life. Sometimes I like to mix how I get ready for a night out - I start out mellow and by night's end I'm on the edge of being crazy. Other times I envision myself on the road with the city lights blurring past me listening to some smooth beats." I've now been BOOSTED! All new show coming in December on www.Boost.FM
